PFA

The Parents & Friends Association (PFA) holds a central place at St Columba’s school.

Parental participation plays a crucial role in fostering a vibrant and supportive environment within our school community. The PFA is responsible for the community social and fundraising aspects of school life.

The responsibilities of a PFA member includes:

  • Taking the lead in organising class-assigned events; organising volunteers, making sure everything is in place for the event to happen. (see schedule below).
  • Extending a warm welcome to new families within your class throughout the year. (details will be provided by the school office)
  • Coordinating social events for your class a few times per year, such as parent gatherings, drinks or or dinners, with or without children, at your discretion. The first gathering should be in term 1, after that it's your choice when to organise a second or third.
  • Responding and disseminating messages as the PFA rep in the class WhatsApp group

Event Schedule for 2024:

  • P+Y6: Bunnings BBQ (TBA)
  • Y5: Shrove Tuesday Dutch Pancakes (Week 3, Term 1) + Christmas Present (Mid-Term 4)
  • Y1+2: Mother's Day Breakfast/Lunch (Week 4, Term 2)
  • Y3+4 Father's Day (Week 7, Term 3)

The Marqt (end of Term 1) and Art Show (week 9, Term 3) are not organised by the PFA, but we will use the PFA to assist with volunteers.
